Looking for Input on Moving
Goods and Enhancing the Texas Economy
The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will hold a Video Conference Listening Session for the Texas Freight Mobility Plan. The Listening Session will be broadcast from Austin to fourteen TxDOT District offices across the State; including Lufkin.
The purpose of this meeting is to help TxDOT identify freight and goods movement issues, needs, trends, challenges, and opportunities that will enhance the economic growth and competitiveness of the state.
The video conferencing technology will allow for an interactive meeting. The stakeholder will be able to view all presentations, hear questions or observations provided by the participants at other locations, pose their own questions, and take part in a "real time" discussion.
For those unable to attend the video conference in person, they may still participate in the session through an online webinar. Registered attendees will be able to see and hear the live presentation online and also view the PowerPoint. They will be given the option to participate in the question/answer time following the presentation. Webinar attendees will receive a username, password and link prior to the listening session date.
We are looking for input from the public, community leaders and industry representatives. Within the freight community, we hope to hear from individuals representing all facets of freight trade and movement, including airlines, railroads, ports, trucking, shippers, receivers, forwarders, agriculture, manufacturers, 3PL, carriers, retailers, pipelines, and transportation providers.
Your participation is important because input obtained from these listening sessions will be used to develop statewide freight transportation priorities and investment strategies, and to ensure recommendations identified for the Texas Freight Mobility Plan address the needs of the state's freight, logistics, business communities, and general public.
