The SFA School of Art and Friends of the Visual Arts will present a free, one-night screening of “Searching for Sugar Man” at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, in The Cole Art Center @ The Old Opera House in downtown Nacogdoches.
The documentary, directed by Malik Bendjelloul, details the efforts of two Cape Town, South Africa, fans in the late 1990s, Stephen “Sugar” Segerman and Craig Bartholomew Strydom, to find out whether the rumored death of American musician Sixto Rodriguez was true.
An SFA cinematography student-directed film will be shown prior to the screening.
