“Farm to table cooking demonstration this Saturday at the Farmer’s Market…”
The Nacogdoches Farmer’s Market is excited to present a Farm to Table cooking demonstration this Saturday, May 11th, 2013. The demonstration will take place on site at the Farmer’s Market, located at 107 W. Pearl Street near the north end of the market at approximately 10 a.m.
Lufkin’s own Chef Mani and certified registered dietician Tim Scallon will be on site selecting items from our own vendors to use in the cooking demonstration. Memorial Cooking Innovations is a 30-minute cooking show featuring diabetic friendly foods that are easy and delicious to prepare. You can watch the show here in Nacogdoches on Channel 2. The vast variety of fresh local produce at the Nacogdoches Farmer’s Market will tie in perfectly to their typical repertoire.
Things you might find this time of year: baked goods (cakes, mini cheesecakes, cookies, fried pies & pies), candles, canned goods (jams & jellies, marmalades, preserves, chow-chow, pickled vegetables, salsas & relishes), artisan Texas cheese, free-range eggs, tilapia fish & fillets, local raw honey, jewelry, plants (cacti, bedding plants, house plants, fruit trees, trees, whips & Valencia heirloom tomatoe plants),
organic pork (pork chops, breakfast sausage and
REAL bacon), soaps (lye and herbal), sugar cane syrup, tamales, vinegars, fruit wines and wood products.
LOCAL PRODUCE: asparagus, fresh frozen shelled beans (butter, Lima & pinto), beets,

The Nacogdoches Farmers’ Market, located at the “hitch lot” at the corner of West Main and Pearl Streets, is open from 8 a.m. until noon or later every Saturday morning. If the market parking lot is full, additional parking is available in the Nacogdoches County Courthouse Annex parking lot. Our Wednesday markets our back so you can shop the Farmer’s Market every Wednesday, from 2 to 6 p.m.
Please note that the Farmer’s Market is a “Smoke Free” facility for the health of our customers and vendors.
